Pregnancy is a wonderful experience which every woman enjoys. But, one thing that horrifies or disappoints them is the postnatal fat that they acquire as a result of pregnancy. Many of the pregnant women have many questions like how to lose weight after giving birth. Though this is not an easy task you need to put a bit of effort. This weight gain fluid retention after the baby’s birth. But you can lose the excessive fluid and calories in 2-3 weeks by perspiring and urinating frequently.

Techniques to help you lose post-pregnancy weight
Here are some simple methods for losing weight after the birth of the baby:

  • The first thing that you need to do is drink plenty of water at least ten to twelve glasses every day.
  • Replace high sugar beverages like juices and sodas with fresh lemon juice and water.
  • You can try a seltzer water that has no calories.
  • Keep handful of healthy snacks like popcorn, nuts, raisins and wheat crackers.
  • Do not buy junk or baked foods as this could add on more calories.
  • You can eat meats like leanest cuts of beef and boneless chicken.
  • You can also eat whole grains like pastas, cereals and bread.
  • When you go to the market to buy goods, do not get fooled by the labels like “nonfat” because some of them are filled with calories like they have hydrogenated vegetable oils that are not healthy. So, whenever you buy goods the first thing to check is for labels.
  • Try to resist your urge to have a fast food meal and if you really feel like having one then go for salads and not the fries or the fat filled burgers.
  • When you feel better after the birth of the baby then you can go for short walks with the baby every day. Carry the baby in a sling or snugli and you could opt for a stroller or baby jogger when they become heavy. Start initially for ten minutes then you could slightly increase the time for walking.
  • You should find ways to slowly increase your exercise by using the stairs instead of elevators.
  • Breast feeding is another way of burning the calories as it burns up 500 calories every day.
  • You could also join a gym and some of the gyms offer babysitting service as well.

One thing that you need to remember is that is you have gained weight within a span of 9 months and to lose weight you need exercise regularly and make healthy food choices, lifestyle changes. This is the only key to lose the weight gain after giving birth.
